The Wolters family wishes to renovate their farmhouse in a sustainable and life-resistant way, while retaining original details.
Challenge:
The challenge within this project is to leave the original details, such as trusses, and to match their wishes. In addition, the renovation plan must take into account the misalignment of the trusses, walls and roof construction that has arisen over a hundred years.
Solutions:
First, the existing situation was visualized using a 3D scanner for an accurate (1mm) starting point. This has been applied because the house was built in 1909 and there is a lot of tilt. After this, a design was made in consultation with the client, taking into account their wishes. To get a good idea of ββthe future end result, we used virtual engineering, using VR glasses and HoloLens. The design was then elaborated into technical drawings and construction calculations, suitable for the structural contractor and the installer.
